Ovruch District Court sentenced a 38-year-old resident of the Slovechansk community of Korosten district to three years imprisonment for evading conscription for military service during mobilization. This was reported on September 10 2026 by the Zhytomyr Regional TCC and SP. Earlier, on September 8, the Korosten District Prosecutor’s Office reported the verdict.

As the court found, the man was liable for military service and fit for military duty. He was twice lawfully notified of the need to appear for assembly and subsequent dispatch to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, the man willfully failed to appear twice at the pre-assembly point for those liable for military service in the premises of the first department of the Korosten District TCC and SP. The purpose there was to complete personnel for military units and further deployment to service.

The court concluded that by these actions he intentionally evaded conscription for military service during mobilization in a special period. As a result of the case review, the man was found guilty and sentenced to three years of imprisonment.

This concerns criminal liability for evading conscription, not merely an administrative fine for failing to appear at the TCC. Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for punishment for such an offense in the form of imprisonment from three to five years.
