Reserve everyone, but assign people to the military: Koretsky proposed a new model
The government and businesses must develop it by December 1
The government and businesses should jointly develop a new model that combines employee reservations with the predictable mobilization of some people into the armed forces. This proposal was made by Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
Under the prime minister’s proposal, businesses would be able to plan their operations, while the state would be able to meet its mobilization targets.
“We need to come up with a new social model together, where everyone may be reserved, but businesses provide for the predictable mobilization of people into the army. This is an idealistic model,” Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi said.
In his view, the proposed approach could reduce the need to look for people on the streets. The prime minister also believes that Ukraine should prepare for a possible escalation of mobilization in Russia, so it would not have to make unpopular decisions on an ad hoc basis again.
“By December 1, we need to present a new social contract,” Serhii Koretskyi said.
The Cabinet of Ministers has already established a Coordination Center for the Organization of Employee Reservations. It will be tasked with harmonizing the criteria used to designate businesses as critically important.
