A man and a woman have been sentenced to prison for a robbery against a local resident in Mykolaiv. Both were also ordered to forfeit their property. Their prison terms are:

  • the man — 8 years and 6 months;
  • the woman — 8 years and 4 months.

According to the court ruling, the attack took place on July 25, 2025, at around 7:00 a.m. Three people involved in the attack came to the victim’s apartment. The woman knocked on the window. When the owner opened the door, his neighbor began threatening him with a knife and striking him.

The victim resisted and managed to knock the knife out of the attacker’s hand. But the attacker did not stop: he continued beating the man and began choking him. The victim suffered numerous bruises, abrasions, and cuts, including injuries to his neck and arm.

As the owner tried to fight back, an accomplice entered the apartment and took an EcoFlow River 2 Pro power station worth nearly 13,700 hryvnias. A woman then entered the home. She took:

  • a Bluetooth speaker;
  • a vase;
  • glue;
  • a flashlight;
  • a desk lamp.

After taking the items, the attackers fled. The total value of the damage was 14,075 hryvnias.

During the trial, the male defendant fully admitted his guilt and expressed remorse. The woman agreed with only some of the circumstances and denied intending to take part in the robbery itself.

The court found both guilty of robbery committed by a group acting in prior collusion, involving unlawful entry into a home and during martial law. In determining the final sentences, the court took previous convictions into account and partially added the unserved portions of their sentences.

Both defendants had been held in custody since the day of the attack. This time will be credited toward their prison sentences.

The verdict may be appealed to the Mykolaiv Court of Appeal within 30 days.
