A man used ChatGPT to forge an MSEK certificate and was fined 17,000 hryvnias
He submitted a forged document attesting to his wife's disability to the CNAP to obtain a deferment
A resident of Rivne region fabricated a forged medical-social expert commission certificate of his wife’s disability in order to obtain a deferral from mobilization. For this he used ChatGPT and a graphics editor, printed the document at home and submitted it to the CNAP of the Sarny City Council. The court found the man guilty and fined him 17 thousand hryvnias.
As stated in the verdict of August 24, Shulhatyi found a sample certificate on the internet. With the help of ChatGPT and a graphics editor he replaced the information in the template, entering his wife’s details and other necessary information. The finished document was printed on a color printer.
The forged paper stated that on October 3, 2024 the woman underwent an initial examination at regional MSEC No.1. She was allegedly assigned Group II disability indefinitely due to a general illness. In fact, the regional MSEC did not issue such a document.
On February 17, 2026 the man applied to the CNAP of the Sarny City Council with a request for a deferral. As proof of his right to it he attached a certified copy of the fake certificate.
The defendant admitted his guilt. The court imposed a 17 thousand hryvnias fine on him. The verdict can be appealed in the appellate court.
