Toyota collided with a parked Chevrolet: four injured in the Mykolaiv region

In the evening of September 11 on the M-05 “Odesa–Kyiv” highway near the village of Kryve Ozero in the Kryvoozerska hromada of Mykolaiv region, three vehicles collided. As a result of the crash, four people sustained injuries of varying severity; all were taken to a medical facility.

The accident occurred at about 20:30. According to police, a 71-year-old driver of a Toyota RAV4 collided with a Chevrolet Aveo. That car had been parked at the edge of the roadway due to a damaged wheel. After the impact, the Chevrolet struck a BMW that was parked ahead.

The triple-car collision injured:

• 27-year-old driver of the BMW;
• 23-year-old passenger of the Chevrolet Aveo;
• 54-year-old passenger of the Toyota RAV4;
• 77-year-old passenger of the Toyota RAV4.

The SUV driver and the 26-year-old female driver of the car were uninjured and refused hospitalization.

Investigators of the Pervomaiskyi District Police Department classified the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of traffic safety rules or the operation of transport by persons operating vehicles. The article’s sanction provides for up to three years of restriction of liberty with deprivation of the right to operate vehicles for the same period.

The police continue to determine all the circumstances and causes of the accident. Citizens who have information about the crash are asked to contact Police Station No. 3 of the Pervomaiskyi District Department by phone at (098) 369-61-16, (096) 753-85-42 or 102.
