"Emergency situations on the descent": in the Korabelnyi district they are asking to ban vehicle stopping

In Mykolaiv, a resident is asking to prohibit public transport from stopping to pick up and drop off passengers at an undesignated location at the intersection of Bohoyavlenskyi Avenue and Klechova Balka Street (formerly Mariia Ulyanova Street), which is located in the Korabelnyi district. According to him, this practice creates dangerous situations, especially during peak traffic hours.

The corresponding post was posted on 15 July 2026 by Dmytro S. in the Facebook group Contact Center at the Mykolaiv City Council.

The author of the appeal noted that vehicles stop at the end of a long descent with a steep incline, where there is neither a pull-in bay nor a widening of the roadway.

“I ask to prohibit public transport from stopping to pick up and drop off passengers in a location that is not designated for this purpose and not equipped with the necessary means at the intersection of Bohoyavlenskyi Avenue and Mariia Ulyanova Street. This leads to the formation of dangerous situations, especially during work-related transport and heavy traffic. This unauthorized stop is located at the end of a long downhill stretch of road with a steep, more than 30 degrees, incline and is not equipped with pull-in bays or even a road widening”.

The emergency response service registered the appeal. It will now be forwarded to the responsible authorities for consideration and for an inspection of public transport organization on this section.
