Zhab’s large-scale painting has returned to the Mykolaiv Art Museum

The large painting “To the Fire” has returned to the V. V. Vereshchagin Mykolaiv Regional Art Museum. Its creator is the artist Alfons Kostiantynovych Zhaba, who lived from 1878 to 1942.

The painting will once again be displayed in the art gallery after a temporary stay elsewhere. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the work and learn about its history, which is closely tied to the institution’s past.

The painting had been part of the museum’s collection for many years and had been housed there almost since the institution was founded. That is why its return is a particularly meaningful event for the staff.

The significance of this event goes beyond adding to the exhibition: the painting is part of the museum’s cultural memory. Its return gives visitors the chance to revisit the history of the collection’s formation.
