In the Mykolaiv region, a soldier is suspected of killing a comrade after an argument
The incident occurred on May 19; the detained person was notified of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code, and the court will soon decide on a preventive measure
In the Mykolaiv Raion, police detained a serviceman who is suspected of intentionally killing his fellow serviceman; the incident occurred on May 19.
The Mykolaiv Oblast police reported the incident, saying that a call to the emergency line 102 had reported the discovery of a man showing no signs of life.
A forensic-operational team, criminalists, investigators and a forensic medical expert arrived at the scene, carried out the necessary initial actions and documented the circumstances.
During the examination of the body, experts found severe head injuries, and law enforcement identified the deceased as a 39-year-old serviceman.
According to preliminary information, a verbal argument broke out between him and his 27-year-old comrade-in-arms, during which the suspect struck the victim several times on the head with part of a metal pipe, as a result of which the victim died at the scene.
The suspect was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and he has been charged under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — “Intentional homicide” — the penalty for which provides for up to 15 years of imprisonment.
A court is expected to decide on a preventive measure for the suspect soon, and the pretrial investigation continues under the procedural supervision of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense of the Southern region.
