Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation completed the pre-trial investigation in the case concerning the death of a mobilized man during transport to Kyiv. On the defendants’ bench are the deputy head of the Podilskyi District TCC and SP and a soldier of the Shevchenkivskyi District TCC and SP of the city of Kyiv. The indictment has already been sent to court. This was reported on 23 April 2026 by the DBR.

According to investigators, the events occurred in May 2025, when TCC personnel were transporting mobilized individuals from training centers in the western regions to the capital. Among them was a resident of Kyiv, who, it is noted, had health problems. During the trip a conflict arose between him and the servicemen.

Investigators believe that the soldier used physical force and a stun gun on the man, causing him bodily injuries. At the same time, the deputy head of the Podilskyi District TCC, who was responsible for transporting the people, did not stop his subordinate’s actions, although he had the opportunity to do so. After arrival in Kyiv, the man was carried out of the bus onto the parade ground, where medics pronounced his death.

The soldier is accused under Part 2 of Art. 121 and Part 5 of Art. 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — this concerns the abuse of official powers that caused grievous consequences, committed under martial law. The deputy head is charged with deliberately failing to stop a subordinate’s criminal offense, which also caused grievous consequences — Part 4 of Art. 426 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Procedural supervision in this case was carried out by the Darnytsia Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Field of Defense of the Central Region.
