Soviet and Russian psychotherapist and hypnotist Anatoly Kashpirovsky has died. He was 87 years old. His death was announced by TV presenter Andrey Malakhov, and later this information was confirmed by Kashpirovsky’s director.
According to available information, Kashpirovsky died at home. The cause of death is reported as acute heart failure. Relatives called emergency services, but they were unable to save him.
Kashpirovsky gained his greatest popularity from televised psychotherapy sessions in the late 1980s. From October 1989 Central Television of the USSR broadcast the program “Health Sessions of Psychotherapist Anatoly Kashpirovsky”. Its audience numbered millions of viewers.
The tele-bridges Kyiv — Moscow and Kyiv — Tbilisi were particularly sensational. In these broadcasts Kashpirovsky claimed that he could remotely anesthetize patients during surgical operations. Representatives of the scientific and medical communities criticized his methods of remote influence.

There was also a political period in his biography: from 1993 to 1995 he was a deputy of the State Duma of Russia.
In recent years Kashpirovsky continued public activities on the internet. Since the COVID-19 pandemic period he held live streams and so-called remote healing sessions on YouTube. His channel remained active until the spring of 2026.
