Roe deer Sashka has recovered: rescuers visited the rescued animal at the Mykolaiv Zoo

Before World Animal Day rescuers from Mykolaiv region visited the roe deer Sasha at the Mykolaiv Zoo, whom they had helped in the spring. After treatment she fully recovered and now lives in a safe enclosure under the supervision of specialists.

A few months ago people saw an exhausted roe deer on the riverbank and appealed to the rescuers. Employees of the State Emergency Service (DSNS) carefully wrapped the animal in a blanket, carried it to a special vehicle and brought it to the zoo.

There veterinarians continued the care: the roe deer was provided with treatment and the necessary care. Gradually she regained her strength. The animal received the name Sashka in honor of one of the rescuers who took part in her rescue.

During the new visit the guests saw a striking change: instead of the emaciated roe deer that once had to be held in someone’s arms, before them stood a healthy, calm and well-groomed resident of the zoo.

The rescuers brought useful treats to their four-legged acquaintance, which Sashka ate with pleasure. The meeting was especially warm for them — they were able to see the rescued animal alive, healthy and safe.
