Zelensky on compromises with Russia: the interests of the state must not be surrendered
The President warned against pressure from Moscow and urged people not to sow panic
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that calls for compromises with Moscow for the sake of ending the war mean surrendering the state’s interests. He expressed his position in comments to Ukrainian journalists.
The head of state stressed that difficulties should not force Ukraine to give in under Russian pressure:
“The interests of our state cannot be surrendered under any circumstances. No matter how hard it is for us, we must not succumb to pressure from Putin and Russia. Because then Ukraine will be broken,” — said Zelensky.
Separately, the president urged not to fuel panic amid strikes and other challenges. He explained that chaos serves Russian objectives:
“We do not need to sow panic. There are already enough challenges and strikes. Chaos is of no use to anyone. Russia is precisely seeking that,” — added the president of Ukraine.
At the same time, Volodymyr Zelensky has already stated the readiness of Ukraine to join a trilateral meeting with the US and Russia at a technical level.
