Over the past week in Mykolaiv, 70 samples of atmospheric air were tested in the laboratory. In 30 samples, exceedances of the maximum allowable concentrations of certain pollutants were detected.

The studies were conducted by specialists from the Mykolaiv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. As part of scheduled monitoring, they collected samples at monitoring points along the city’s arterial roads.

In the Central district of Mykolaiv, permissible concentrations were exceeded for three indicators:

  • dust;
  • formaldehyde;
  • carbon monoxide.

At the same time, the rest of the substances examined at the monitoring points did not exceed the established limits, the center noted.

“At the same time, the results of the studies showed that at all monitoring points the concentrations of phenol, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide and ozone did not exceed the established maximum permissible norms,” reported the Mykolaiv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
