In Mykolaiv, one in four air samples showed exceedances of pollutant levels

In Mykolaiv over the past week the quality of ambient air was checked along major road transport thoroughfares and at the edge of residential development. Of the 100 samples examined, 25 showed exceedances of permissible levels of certain pollutants. The results were reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

In the Central District exceedances of concentrations of dust, formaldehyde and carbon monoxide were recorded.

At the same time, the study results indicated that at all control points the concentrations of phenol, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, phenol and ozone did not exceed established maximum permissible limits.

The previous air survey in Mykolaiv was carried out from 24 to 28 August at control points along the highways. At that time specialists collected 65 samples, in 15 of which exceedances of permissible levels of certain pollutants were also detected.
