In Mykolaiv, an employee of the TCC beat a veteran-cyborg with a disability — an adviser to the mayor

In Mykolaiv, a TCC employee, according to witnesses, beat a veteran with a disability near a hospital in the Korabelnyi district; the incident occurred on 23 July, according to freelance advisor to Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych on veterans, families of fallen defenders and prisoners, Hennadiy Zadyrko.

According to him, the beating took place in the presence of a police officer, and the victim is a defender of Donetsk Airport, a former prisoner of war and a recipient of the Order «For Courage». He recounted the incident in a post published on Facebook, adding that he expects an appropriate response from the relevant agencies and the TCC command, which must conduct an investigation and take measures regarding the subordinates involved in the incident. «A very unpleasant incident occurred on 23 July near the hospital in the Korabelnyi district. A TCC representative, in the presence of a police officer, beat a veteran, a person with a disability, a “cyborg”, a former prisoner of war, a recipient of the Order «For Courage». There is, in essence, nothing to comment on here… All commanders and participants in the beating must be held accountable according to the law. It is especially sad that state law enforcement officers, it is claimed, ignore such facts. It is hard to imagine greater harm than inaction in such situations. And one more question to the leadership of the TCC — colonels, lieutenant colonels, majors: where do you find such perpetrators?», — reported the freelance advisor to Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych on veterans, families of fallen defenders and prisoners, Hennadiy Zadyrko.

The unofficial honorary title «cyborgs» in Ukraine refers to the servicemen who defended Donetsk International Airport during the 2014–2015 hostilities.

Since 2022, 20 January has been observed as the Day of Honoring the Defenders of Donetsk Airport, and a significant number of the defenders received state awards, including the Order «For Courage», in many cases posthumously.
