The tenant had not paid for years: agricultural land in Mykolaiv Oblast returned to local communities
The court’s decision was enforced, and the termination of the lease was entered in the register
Communities in Mykolaiv Oblast have had more than 80 hectares of agricultural land returned to them after the tenant company failed to pay rent for more than four years. The Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office announced the return of the land plots. According to myk.gp.gov.ua.
The prosecutor’s office secured rulings in its favor in the Commercial Court of Mykolaiv Oblast. The court terminated the lease agreements and ordered the company to return the land to the communities.
The ruling has now been enforced: the plots have been returned, and the termination of the leases has been recorded in the state register.
The communities can once again manage the land. In particular, they can put the plots up for auction and lease them to new tenants who will pay for their use. This revenue will help fund local budgets.
A separate case concerns community-owned land in Mykolaiv: a company used a plot of nearly one hectare for seven years without formalizing a lease or paying for the land. As a result, the city budget missed out on nearly UAH 800,000.
