Illegal dump in the Korabelnyi District: residents reported it - the garbage was removed
The dump remained until people complained: the unauthorized landfill has been cleared
State Environmental Inspectorate of the South-Western District reported April 29 2026 that in the Korabelnyi District of Mykolaiv an unauthorized landfill was removed following citizens’ complaints.
The inspectorate received a report about an accumulation of waste on a plot of land in the Korabelnyi District. Inspectors went to the site and during the inspection confirmed the presence of an illegal dump. After the examination, the State Environmental Inspectorate of the South-Western District sent a letter to the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Mykolaiv City Council demanding that they organize the cleanup of the area and eliminate the identified violation.
Municipal services carried out the necessary work: the area was cleaned, and the waste was fully removed.
The story once again shows: even during wartime, maintenance and beautification problems in the Korabelnyi District do not disappear on their own. And often it is residents’ appeals that provide the push after which the responsible services finally respond.
