Kim: Due to mobilization, the Mykolaiv region is lacking up to 30% of personnel — young people are leaving for safer regions
The region is now mostly left with workers of retirement and pre-retirement age
Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitalii Kim on the air of «Novyny.LIVE» stated that mobilization is one of the key reasons for staff shortages across the country.
According to the official, the region is experiencing about a 30% shortage of workers, with a large portion of those who continue to work being people of retirement or pre-retirement age, so young specialists are the most lacking.
He also explained that, with equal pay and social guarantees, specialists tend to choose offers from safer territories, particularly from western oblasts, while frontline regions lose out due to increased risks on the job.
“The staff shortage exists across the country, and this is primarily due to mobilization, unfortunately. It’s true, and there’s nothing you can do about it; we need to look the problem in the face. To a greater extent the problem (shortage of personnel – ed.) is in the frontline regions, because to the mobilization issue we add the problem of risks and work,” — said Vitalii Kim.
Earlier he outlined the factors that, in his view, will ensure the return of business to the Mykolaiv region after the end of the war.
