The first FREYJA anti-missile system for Ukraine could be ready by the end of 2026. This was said by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on September 10 while speaking with journalists in Canada.

According to the head of state, Canada will join the FREYJA program. It was discussed earlier in Norway, and now the issue of the system’s development was raised during the visit to Canada.

“We are working on FREYJA and are glad that Canada will join this program. Companies talk about 2030 years for a new ballistic system, but we do not want such a long war. There are new technologies and a new Ukraine now — we can do it faster. And we expect to have the first system by the end of the year,” said Volodymyr Zelensky.

The President also said that Ukraine expects to receive in New York a clearer understanding of the timeline for all further steps within the program. He emphasized that this concerns defense issues.
