Stab wounds proved fatal: a 61-year-old man died in the Mykolaiv region

September 9, the police received a report about the body of a 61-year-old resident of the Snihurivka community that was discovered in his house. A neighbor of the deceased notified law enforcement.

At the scene, a forensic-operational team, officers of the Police Department No. 2 of the Bashtanka District Department, and specialists from the forensic laboratory of the investigative department of the regional police headquarters arrived.

During initial investigative and operational-search actions, law enforcement established that a 43-year-old fellow villager may have been involved in the man’s death. According to the investigation, during the conflict he inflicted stab wounds on the victim. The man died at the scene from the injuries sustained.

The suspect was detained in accordance with procedural rules and was notified of suspicion of murder. For the committed crime he faces up to 15 years in prison.
