Major Denys Hipik has taken command of the 123rd Mykolaiv Drone Brigade
Before his appointment, the officer commanded the 1st UAV Battalion and has significant combat experience
27 July the Regional Command of the Territorial Defense Forces «South» reported personnel changes: the 123rd Separate Mykolaiv Unmanned Systems Brigade was placed under the command of Major Denys Hipik, and the previous commander, Colonel Oleh Makukha, was appointed to a higher position within that command.
The information was published on the command’s official page, noting that this concerns the Mykolaiv unmanned systems unit, which received a new commander as part of a planned rotation of the leadership.
Prior to the new appointment, Denys Hipik commanded the 1st battalion of unmanned systems of this brigade.
“During his service, he has proven himself to be a professional officer with considerable combat experience, high authority among the personnel, and a deep understanding of the specifics of employing modern unmanned technologies on the battlefield,” the Regional Command of the Territorial Defense Forces «South» reported.
Colonel Oleh Makukha, who previously led the brigade, will continue to serve in the Regional Command of the Territorial Defense Forces «South» in a higher position.
