Drones delivered nearly 4 tonnes of food and medicine to occupied Oleshky
Marines, National Guard troops, and border guards took part in the operation
Residents of temporarily occupied Oleshky in the Kherson region received around 4 tonnes of food and essential medicines. Ukrainian troops delivered the supplies by drone during a complex humanitarian operation. The South Group of Forces announced the operation.
The following units took part in delivering the aid:
- marines from the 34th Separate Marine Brigade “Borysfen”;
- the 11th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine;
- the 34th Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine;
- the 79th Border Guard Detachment.
The military stressed the importance of the supplies for local residents. At the same time, this assistance does not meet their substantial needs.
A separate warning concerns the possibility that Russia is preparing staged video recordings in the city. According to Ukrainian intelligence, the occupiers may arrange to film dozens of videos featuring local residents. Ukrainian troops say people may be forced to speak on camera about satisfactory living conditions and the availability of food, and to express gratitude to the occupying authorities.
“Forced statements on camera will not change people’s circumstances. Residents of Oleshky need food, medicine, safe access to humanitarian aid, and the opportunity to leave the city,” Ukrainian troops stressed.
