Car crash in Korabelnyi: signs of intoxication, driving into oncoming traffic, and wrecked cars

In the evening of June 11, 2026 on Bohoyavlenskyi Avenue, in the Korabelnyi district of Mykolaiv, a road traffic accident occurred involving a Nissan and a Kia Rio. The cars collided near building No. 255. The accident was reported by a correspondent of the publication “Novyny-N”.

According to preliminary information, the Nissan was traveling along Bohoyavlenskyi Avenue from the “Universam” area toward the center of Mykolaiv. The Kia Rio was driving in the opposite direction. While moving, the Kia suddenly entered the oncoming lane, where it collided with the Nissan. The reasons why the driver changed trajectory and ended up in the oncoming lane have not been reported.

According to information from the scene, the Kia driver showed external signs of alcohol intoxication. At the same time, the man refused to undergo a breathalyzer test with a Drager device. The published statement refers not to a confirmed test result but to external signs of possible intoxication and the driver’s refusal to be tested. As a result of the collision both vehicles sustained mechanical damage. According to preliminary data, no people were injured in the accident.

Due to the processing of the accident, traffic on this section of Bohoyavlenskyi Avenue was disrupted.
