Traffic accident in the Mykolaiv region: after colliding with a ZAZ, a woman on a moped was taken to hospital

In the Voznesensk district, the Mykolaiv region police are investigating the circumstances of a road traffic accident in which the moped rider was injured.

The accident occurred on 11 June 2026, at approximately 20:00, on Veshneva Street in the village of Pankratove of the Pivdennoukrainska urban community. According to police, the crash involved a ZAZ-1102 car driven by a 70-year-old driver and a Yamaha moped operated by a 41-year-old woman.

After the collision, the moped rider was hospitalized with injuries. Authorities are now establishing all the circumstances of the accident.

Investigators have preliminarily qualified the incident as a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of traffic safety rules or the operation of transport by persons operating vehicles. The article’s penalty provides for up to three years of restriction of liberty.

The Transport Crime Investigation Department of the investigative directorate asks citizens who witnessed the accident or have any information about its circumstances to contact by phone: 093 064 76 40 or 102.
