In Mykolaiv, a BMW and a Honda Dio clashed at an intersection: the moped rider was hospitalized

In Mykolaiv, police are establishing the circumstances of a road traffic accident in which a moped rider was injured. The crash occurred on May 23, 2026, at approximately 21:30, at the intersection of Oleksa Almazova and Kurortna streets. This was reported by the Mykolaiv Oblast police.

According to preliminary information from law enforcement, the accident involved a BMW driven by a 20-year-old driver, and a Honda Dio moped ridden by a 44-year-old man. After the collision, the moped rider with bodily injuries was hospitalized by medics. Police are currently determining all the details of the crash: who violated traffic rules, what the vehicles’ speeds were, and what circumstances preceded the collision.

Investigators have provisionally classified the incident under the elements of a criminal offense provided for in part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of traffic safety rules or the operation of transport by persons who drive vehicles. The article’s sanction provides for up to three years’ restriction of liberty.
