Threats of arrest, a blow to the hands that knocked the phone out... Another conflict between a service member and the TCC in Mykolaiv
At first the man refused to present his documents; he later confirmed his status as a serviceman. Footage and explanations were released by Serhiy Zholonko
In Mykolaiv, police have launched an internal investigation after a conflict between a serving serviceman and a notification group that included employees of the territorial recruitment and social support center and a police officer; the incident occurred on July 25 on Sinna Street.
The Main Directorate of the National Police in Mykolaiv Oblast reported that officers discovered video of the incident while monitoring social networks, after which they confirmed the place and time of the event — Sinna Street in Mykolaiv on July 25.
According to police, the man refused to present an identity document as well as military registration documents that could confirm his status as a serviceman, in connection with which he was offered to go to the territorial recruitment and social support center to clarify his military registration details.
Law enforcement notes that the citizen did not comply with the lawful demands of the notification group, which led to a verbal dispute between the parties, and later the man provided documents that confirmed he is a serving serviceman.
The regional leadership has appointed an internal investigation to clarify all the circumstances of the incident and to check the lawfulness of the police officer’s actions, and based on the results of the check the Main Directorate of the National Police will make a further decision regarding those actions.

The incident involved serviceman Serhii Zholonko, who published the video on his Facebook page and posted his own version of events.
“Do I look like a war veteran? Maybe more like a ‘draft-dodger’, a marginal or a criminal who needs to be herded into a van in broad daylight!? At the TCC people I didn’t pass ‘face control’ and ‘age monitoring’, they started hassling me on the street. A standard argument arose…, but then an iron argument appeared — a cop got out of the magic van with an EU plate. He came out to dot the i’s. Next came threats of detention and handcuffs, prohibition on filming, a hit to the hands with the phone knocked out…, ‘I am detaining you for draft evasion’… In the end they all went after the Russian cruiser… But I am ashamed of this ‘notification brigade’, of the authorities that impose this wartime algorithm in the ‘rear’, drenched in grief and blood. I am ashamed in front of the brothers who are no longer in this world and those who are fighting… I am ashamed that they are defiling the uniform of the Armed Forces and the police.” — wrote Serhii Zholonko on his Facebook page.
