After the morning shelling in Mykolaiv, some electric public transport was suspended: which routes were restricted
One trolleybus was damaged as a result of the attack
In Mykolaiv, after the morning shelling May 2, 2026, of the city’s energy infrastructure, the operation of electric public transport was temporarily changed. This was reported by the mayor Oleksandr Senkevych.
According to him, these restrictions were introduced to reduce the load on the power system. Because of this, trolleybus service on route №9 has been temporarily suspended, as well as tram №3 in the direction of Raketne Urochysche.
It is separately reported that a trolleybus was damaged as a result of the shelling. Thus, the morning strike by Russian forces affected not only the energy sector but also directly the operation of the city’s transport.
To save electricity, the deployment of trolleybuses of the type “Dnipro” with an autonomous range of up to 1 km was also reduced. At the same time, 44 trolleybuses continue to operate on the city’s routes.
The city authorities’ statement emphasizes that these decisions are forced and directly related to the consequences of the hostile attack on the energy infrastructure.
“We note that all these measures are forced and aimed at stabilizing the operation of the city’s energy system and are a consequence of hostile shelling. We are doing everything possible and support our energy workers who are working in extremely difficult conditions”, – the statement says.
