Massive "Shahed" attack: Mykolaiv partially without power after strikes on energy infrastructure
People without electricity, damaged houses and cars
As of the morning of May 2, 2026, renewed enemy kamikaze drone attacks were recorded in the Mykolaiv region. During the past day, May 1, Russian forces used Shahed-type UAVs, and the region’s energy infrastructure was targeted. As a result of the strikes, some consumers in the regional center were left without power.
Power workers have already partially restored electricity to subscribers, but repair work continues. In addition, damage from the attack was recorded: windows were blown out in an apartment building and a car was damaged. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties.
In the Mykolaiv district the situation also remained tense. Yesterday the enemy attacked the territories of the Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities seven times with FPV drones.
In the village of Dmytriivka, as a result of one of the shellings a private residential house was damaged — part of the roof was destroyed and windows were blown out. Fortunately, people were not injured there either.
