During 31 July and the morning of 1 August 2026, Russian occupation forces attacked the Mykolaiv region with Shahed-type drones, “Molniya” and FPV-drones. Port infrastructure, a civilian vessel, residential houses and a warehouse facility came under attack.

According to information as of 07:00 on 1 August, during the previous day the enemy attacked the region with Shahed-type drones. No damage or casualties were recorded as a result of this attack.

In the Bashtanskyi district Russian forces three times attacked the Horokhivska and Snihurivska communities with “Molniya” strike drones and an FPV drone.

As a result of the enemy strikes a private residential house and the roof of a warehouse were damaged. After another shelling dry grass caught fire. According to official information, no one was injured.

In the Mykolaiv district the enemy attacked the Kutsurubska and Ochakivska communities with a “Molniya” strike drone and an FPV drone. As a result of one of the shellings in the village of Solonchaky a private residential house was damaged. There are no casualties.

On the morning of 1 August Russian occupiers directed a Shahed at the port infrastructure of the Mykolaiv district. A civilian vessel was damaged as a result of the attack. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.

That same night Russia launched a large-scale missile-and-drone attack on Ukraine. According to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, the enemy fired 35 missiles, including 27 ballistic ones, and 185 attack drones of various types. The main target was Kyiv.

In the capital seven districts were affected, 18 residential buildings, a school, the Embassy of Lithuania and infrastructure facilities were damaged. At the time of the report it was known about nine people killed and dozens wounded.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, commenting on the consequences of the massive Russian attack, emphasized the critical shortage of interceptor missiles for Patriot systems.

“Since nightfall in Kyiv and the region, work is underway to eliminate the consequences of the Russian strike. There were many fires in the city – seven districts were affected. And, as usual, the Russians struck ordinary residential buildings. 18 buildings, a school, the Embassy of Lithuania and infrastructure facilities were damaged. As of now it is known that nine people died as a result of this attack. My condolences to the relatives and loved ones. Dozens of people were wounded. Medical teams are providing assistance to everyone who needs it. Tonight the Russians launched 35 missiles at Ukraine, of which 27 were ballistic, and 185 attack drones of various types. The main target is Kyiv. But they also struck Dniprovshchyna, Sumshchyna, Kharkivshchyna, Poltavshchyna. Only one ballistic missile was shot down tonight simply because there are no missiles for the “Patriots”. And this very shortage of interceptors against ballistic missiles only encourages Russia to carry out such strikes against life. It is very important that partners hear that these means are needed not somewhere in warehouses for possible scenarios, but here and now, so that the Russian war can be contained and stopped in Ukraine. Every package with anti-ballistic missiles saves the lives of our people. And every night when it is absent leads to casualties. Thank you to everyone who works to strengthen our defense.”
