Sports-tourists from the Mykolaiv Oblast won silver and bronze medals at the Ukrainian Championship in sport tourism. The adult team covered a 98-kilometer extremely difficult mountain route, while the juniors completed 62 kilometers and took 2nd place. The Mykolaiv Regional Center for National-Patriotic Education and Tourism reported the success of the region’s representatives on 23 June 2026.

The Ukrainian Championship in the discipline “Hiking tourism” took place from 18 to 22 June 2026 in the village of Myslivka, Vyhoda territorial community, Kalush district, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. Participants competed on long distances in a rescue-operations format. 19 teams from 13 regions of Ukraine started. The Mykolaiv region was represented by 2 teams — the adult and the junior.

Adult athletes competed on an extremely difficult VI class route, while the juniors tested themselves on a route of the more challenging for their age IV class. This championship is considered one of the toughest tests in hiking tourism. Teams covered routes through mountainous terrain, overcame natural obstacles and independently chose 4 blocks of technical stages. This format required from participants not only physical endurance, but also the ability to navigate, work with tourist equipment, make quick tactical decisions and act cohesively as a team.

The adult national team of the Mykolaiv Oblast covered a 98-kilometer picturesque but extremely difficult route and became the bronze medalist of the Ukrainian Championship. The team included leaders of clubs and graduates of the Mykolaiv Regional Center for National-Patriotic Education, Tourism and Local Lore of Student Youth:

  • Kolesnikova Mariya;
  • Pushkarenko Valentyna;
  • Savenko Dmytro;
  • Hroza YehorMykolaiv;
  • Noskov Ihor;
  • Yalanskyi AndriyVoznesensk.

No less difficult a test awaited the juniors. Among 9 teams that dared to start, the team featuring representatives of the Mykolaiv region covered a route of 62 kilometers and won the silver medals. The silver medalists were:

  • Dobrytsa Oleksiy;
  • Solovyova Valeriia;

  • Kostiukov Oleg (coach)Voznesensk;
  • Badulia Ivan;
  • Muzychenko Nazar — representatives of Chernihiv Oblast who supplemented the team.

As a result, both teams with athletes from the Mykolaiv region finished the extremely difficult multi-day routes on the podium: the adults won bronze, and the juniors — silver. This performance once again confirmed the high level of the Mykolaiv school of sport tourism, its coaches, club leaders, graduates and young trainees.

We congratulate the athletes and coaches on their awards and wish them new routes, strong opponents, safe starts and further victories.

Special thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, thanks to whose courage and daily struggle Ukrainian athletes have the opportunity to train, represent their regions and climb the podium under the blue-and-yellow flag.
