Two strikes in September: the JTI factory in Kremenchuk is currently not operating
Work was halted before the attacks; there were no workers inside
The JTI factory in Kremenchuk, Poltava region was struck twice during September 2026. The enterprise is currently not operating, according to a response from JTI Ukraine to an inquiry by RBC-Ukraine.
For security reasons the company did not specify whether the factory itself was directly hit during the night attack on 22 September. At the same time, JTI Ukraine emphasized that there were no employees at the facility: its operations had been suspended before the strikes.
JTI Ukraine also rejected statements by the Russian Ministry of Defense about alleged weapons production at the factory. The company noted that the facility manufactures only tobacco products.
JTI Ukraine is among the largest producers of tobacco products in the country. The company has operated on the Ukrainian market since 1999 and is part of the international group Japan Tobacco International (JTI).

In 2024 the company launched the Ploom ecosystem in Ukraine, designed for electrically heated tobacco products.
