Left their rivals with virtually no chance: Mykolaiv's women cyclists took 20 medals at the Ukrainian Championships

Seven gold medals in six days: female athletes from Mykolaiv triumphed at the Championship

Mykolaiv female cyclists performed successfully at the Ukrainian Track Cycling Championships, gathering a total of 20 medals of various kinds. This was reported on June 11 2026 by the Mykolaiv City Council.

The competition took place in Kyiv from May 30 to June 4, 2026. Men and women under 23 years, as well as junior men and junior women, competed for the medals. Mykolaiv at the championships was represented by female athletes trained at the city’s SDYUSSHOR for cycling. The athletes took part in individual and team track disciplines and won 7 gold, 9 silver and 4 bronze medals.

  • The most successful in terms of top prizes was Anna Kolyzhuk. She recorded three gold and three silver medals.
  • Valeriia Pushkar finished the championship with two gold and one silver medal.
  • Immediately six medals were won by Yelyzaveta Kozakova: one gold, three silver and two bronze.
  • Anastasiia Petruk added to the team’s tally one gold, one silver and one bronze medal.
  • Yaroslava Khmilyar won an additional two silver medals.

The athletes were prepared for the championship by coaches Yurii Agarkov, Volodymyr Kohut, Oleksandr Sadovskyi, Volodymyr Suprun and Vasyl Horbachuk.

This is not the first significant result for the graduates of Mykolaiv’s SDYUSSHOR in cycling. In March 2026 Valeriia Pushkar also won a gold medal at the Ukrainian track championships in Lviv, and in April 2026 Mykolaiv cyclists won nine awards at competitions in Zhovkva. In 2025 Mykolaiv athletes already brought back 11 medals from the Ukrainian championships in the Lviv Oblast, and the SDYUSSHOR team won 17 awards at track events in Lviv.
