In the region — 7 fires in 24 hours: hay and an apartment building burned in Mykolaiv
Over the past 24 hours, 32 State Emergency Service personnel and eight special vehicles were involved in extinguishing fires
According to the State Emergency Service of Mykolaiv region, May 4 and the night of May 5, 2026, Mykolaiv Oblast recorded seven fires.
In the Mykolaiv district several fires occurred directly in Mykolaiv. Rescuers responded to a fire in the basement of a nine-story residential building, and also extinguished hay on the grounds of a private household.
In the village of Progresivka of the Berezan community a farm outbuilding caught fire. The fire was extinguished over an area of 30 sq. m.
Another call in the Mykolaiv district came from the village of Kryva Balka of the Vesnyanska community, where dry vegetation ignited.
In the Voznesensk district a fire occurred in the city of Voznesensk of the Voznesensk community. There a farm outbuilding burned in a private yard over an area of 30 sq. m. A garbage fire was also recorded in the district.
In the Bashtanka district, in the town of Snihurivka, rescuers extinguished garbage and dry vegetation.
In total, during the day 32 State Emergency Service personnel and eight special vehicles were involved in extinguishing the fires.
These summaries again show that for the region’s rescuers the danger is not limited only to the consequences of Russian attacks. In spring, dry vegetation, garbage, abandoned or utility buildings remain a separate problem where fire can quickly spread to people’s homes or property.
