Russians struck a lyceum in Mykolaiv: a school bus was completely burned, windows in the building were blown out

Since the night of August 2, 2026, Russian forces terrorized residents of the Mykolaiv region, attempting to attack Mykolaiv. In the morning, due to the fall of munitions and their fragments, a fire broke out on the grounds of a municipal educational institution.

The target of the Russian attack was a lyceum. A parked school bus in the school’s yard caught fire. The fire covered 20 square meters. Rescuers extinguished the fire, but the vehicle was completely destroyed.

Another school bus was damaged. The blast wave blew out the windows of the lyceum building. According to preliminary information, nobody was killed or injured as a result of the Russian attack.

Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych reported that representatives of the district administration and municipal services are already working on the premises of the educational institution. Specialists are inspecting the lyceum building, its grounds, and the nearby residential sector to determine the full extent of the damage.

“This morning Russian scoundrels attacked Mykolaiv.

As a result of the attack there is damage on the grounds of the educational institution.

One school bus was completely destroyed, another was damaged. Windows in the building itself were blown out.

District and municipal services are already working on site.

We are inspecting the institution’s building and the adjacent residential sector, recording all damages.

Most importantly, there are no casualties.

Thank you to all services for their prompt work,” said Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych.

Residents of Mykolaiv whose property was damaged as a result of the Russian attack were reminded of the need to submit an application for a commission inspection. It is conducted by the Department of State Architectural and Construction Control of the Mykolaiv City Council.
