Tax authorities, together with the police, uncovered the sale of alcohol and tobacco without the necessary documents and licenses
In the Mykolaiv region, during joint inspections tax officials together with the police uncovered the sale of alcohol and tobacco without permits and in violation of cash register rules, the regional office of the State Tax Service reported.
According to the agency, alcoholic beverages were sold without a retail trade license and without documents confirming the origin of the products. In addition, sellers did not use cash registers during transactions.
To stop the illegal activity, the tax service handed over the collected information to law enforcement. The police seized excise goods and drew up an administrative protocol.
As a result, more than 700 bottles of alcoholic beverages worth about 274.5 thousand hryvnias and 68 packs of tobacco products with an estimated value of 4.7 thousand hryvnias were confiscated.
For such violations the business may be fined nearly 550 thousand hryvnias.
