MasterChef winner Oleksandr Zubko has been mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The winner of the culinary show MasterChef Oleksandr Zubko announced that he has been mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as he reported on his Instagram page.

After the finale of the 16th season of the show, the life of the 25-year-old pastry chef changed dramatically — he joined the Ukrainian military. A native of Vinnytsia has already completed the initial stage of training for new recruits.

According to Zubko, the training sessions were a new experience for him, different from his usual days in the kitchen. He emphasized that he is mastering a completely different field that requires discipline and endurance.

The chef also noted that the drills turned out to be difficult and included a number of tough and atypical tasks; however, he continues to adapt to the military rhythm.

Addressing his followers, Zubko briefly described his current condition and motivation.

“This is not my element at all, but despite everything I’m here”

After that he thanked his audience for their support and posted a photo in military uniform in front of a camouflage net.
