Life Sentence for Sexually Abusing Seven Girls: Foster Father Sentenced
The youngest victim was 10 years old at the time of the first crime
The father-caregiver of a family-type children’s home was sentenced to life imprisonment for sexually abusing seven girls in his care. The court delivered its verdict on September 25, 2026.
At the time of the first crime, the youngest victim was 10 years old. According to investigators, former residents told law enforcement about the abuse after they had reached adulthood and left the family.
After Russia’s full-scale invasion began, the family left Kherson. From the beginning of 2024, the family-type children’s home operated in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. The man was arrested there in autumn 2025.
A search of his computer uncovered 483 photo and video files containing child pornography. During the investigation, six children were removed from the family and placed with other families. The family-type children’s home was dissolved.
The accused denied his guilt. However, the court found him guilty of several particularly serious crimes against children’s sexual freedom and inviolability.
