Sexual abuse of his 4-year-old son: authorities in Kyiv region investigate the father’s case
The mother contacted the police; the man was notified of the suspicion
An investigation is underway in the Kyiv region into a father suspected of sexually abusing and committing lewd acts against his own young son. According to the investigation, the boy was between three and four years old at the time.
The child’s mother contacted the police after later learning what had happened to her son. Investigators believe that over a period of six months, the man repeatedly committed sexual and lewd acts against the boy. According to law enforcement, this happened when no other adults were present.
Expert examinations gave investigators grounds to conclude that the suspect’s actions caused the boy psychological trauma. The child also developed emotional aversion to his father and a need for psychological safety.
The man was notified that he is suspected of offences under the following provisions of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Part 4 of Article 153 — sexual violence against a person under the age of 14.
- Part 2 of Article 156 — lewd acts against a young child committed by a family member.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the Buchа District Police Department of the Kyiv region.
