18 fires in 24 hours, two — due to hostilities: report of the State Emergency Service of Mykolaiv region
All fires were extinguished; no one was injured
During September 11 and on the night of September 12, 18 fires were registered in the Mykolaiv region. Two of them were caused by hostilities. Firefighters extinguished the fires; no injuries were reported.
In the Voznesensk district, transport infrastructure came under attack. In the Mykolaiv district, dry grass, trees and harvest residues on open terrain caught fire as a result of combat actions. The fires caused by hostilities were extinguished by firefighters.
Another 15 fires occurred in open areas of the region. Rescuers extinguished fires in dry grass, shrubs, forest belts and harvest residues. Their total area amounted to 6.8 ha.
In the Vesnyanska territorial community, firefighters put out a utility outbuilding of 20 sq. m. The causes of the fires are being determined.
56 State Emergency Service personnel and 14 units of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fires. In some cases, firefighters from the local fire brigades also assisted.
