Pontoon jumps ended in threats: yacht-club conflict divides Mykolaiv residents

At the yacht club near the beach “Chayka” in Mykolaiv, a conflict recently arose over children who were jumping into the water from a pontoon. A video of the incident was published on July 27 , 2026 on the Telegram channel “Korabelov.Info”.

In the recording, the guard tries to drive the children off the pontoon and explains that the director banned swimming on the premises. The conversation quickly escalates.

“I’ll tear your ears off,” — the man threatens the children.

Those present reprimanded him and urged him to speak more calmly:

“You need to love children. When you treat children properly, they’ll listen to you.”

The incident sparked active discussion among readers. Some townspeople supported the guard, noting that he was following management’s instructions and could have been held responsible if something had happened to the children.

“For the children — entertainment, and the guard will be fired,” — wrote Artur.

“The guard will be the scapegoat,” — agreed Halyna.

Lyudmyla noted that the children did not respond to the warnings, so the employee decided to scare them. In her view, it is the parents who should explain to minors why they cannot enter the prohibited area.

Other readers emphasized that even if there is a ban, an adult should not threaten children. They also raised questions about the legal status of the pontoon, the land plot, and the powers of the security personnel.

“To understand, more information is needed about the ownership status of the land and water area, as well as about the guard’s powers,” — wrote Skif.

Volodymyr suggested that the employee should first warn violators, and if they refuse to leave the area — call the police and record the complaint.

Some townspeople also pointed to a lack of equipped places for recreation by the water. At the same time, comments noted that a sign allegedly prohibiting swimming and fishing is installed on the yacht club’s premises. There is no official position from the club’s administration regarding the conflict as of the time of publication.
