OKP “Mykolaivoblteploenergo” has announced a competition to fill the vacant position of an anti-corruption officer. The prospective employee is offered a salary from 31,600 hryvnias.

For a municipal enterprise that works with heat supply, budgetary decisions, consumer arrears, procurement and international aid, such a position should not be a formality but a real tool for risk control. The candidate must have a higher legal or economic education at the specialist or master’s level. Also a mandatory requirement is at least three years of experience in the field of corruption prevention.

The company is ready to consider specialists who have previously worked in internal audit, internal security, investigative or operational-search activities, as well as in similar positions.

Requirements for the candidate also include confident computer skills and a high level of proficiency in the Ukrainian language. The duties of the future authorized person will include developing and implementing measures to prevent corruption offenses. They must also monitor the implementation of such measures at the enterprise. In practice, this is a person who must ensure that corruption risks at the enterprise are detected in a timely manner, that they are responded to, and that violations in internal processes are not allowed.

The transparency of “Mykolaivoblteploenergo”‘s operations is a particularly sensitive issue for Mykolaiv. The enterprise serves a critically important sector, and the city’s residents regularly face painful questions about tariffs, debts, heating quality, the condition of networks and the costs of modernization.

Earlier an integrity assessment of strategically important municipal enterprises began in Mykolaiv, which included “Mykolaivoblteploenergo”. As part of that assessment, management, procurement, asset use, corporate governance, ethical standards and potential corruption risks were analyzed.
