In the Rivne region, a serviceman on a bicycle shot at a vehicle belonging to the Territorial Recruitment Center and the police

In the Rivne region on the evening of April 29 at around 17:00 a serviceman aged 48 opened fire on recruitment center (TCC) staff and a police officer near a service vehicle in one of the settlements of Dubno district, wounding 2 people with glass fragments and fleeing; however, he was identified and detained.

According to the investigation, the man was riding a bicycle, stopped next to the service vehicle in which recruitment center (TCC) representatives and a police officer were present, took from a bag an item resembling an automatic weapon, and fired several bursts toward the vehicle.

As a result of the shooting, 2 people were injured by glass fragments and hospitalized; another 2 people were unharmed. The service vehicle sustained mechanical damage.

After the shooting, the attacker left the scene. Law enforcement identified and detained him; it was established that he is a serviceman aged 48.

Prosecutors are preparing charges under several articles, including attempted murder of 2 or more persons, an attack on the life of a law enforcement officer, and desertion. The investigation continues.
