Driver's license "with a surprise": who is really behind the wheel in Mykolaiv?
After the accident, the driver showed a driver's license registered to another person
Patrol Police of the Mykolaiv Region April 27, 2026 reported another case involving a driver with likely fake documents. The suspicious license was discovered not during a routine stop but while processing a traffic accident on Troitska Street in Mykolaiv.
According to the patrol officers, one of the accident participants presented a driver’s license that raised doubts about its authenticity. After checking available databases, police established that a license with that series and number is registered to a completely different person. Investigators were then called to the scene. They are to establish all circumstances of the case and determine where the driver obtained a document showing signs of forgery.
Notably, the patrol officers themselves emphasize that they continue to detect drivers with, presumably, forged documents. And this is no longer just a story about one suspicious form, but a question of road safety: who exactly gets behind the wheel, how these people obtain documents, and whether they even went through the legal procedure to obtain driving rights.
