On Friday afternoon, October 30, 2026, a fatal road accident involving a passenger car and an ambulance occurred near the village of Troitske in the Yaski community of Odesa Oblast. The car’s driver was killed in the collision, while two children in the car were injured and taken to hospital. The accident was reported by the Odesa District Police Department No. 2.

According to preliminary information from law enforcement, the 65-year-old driver of the passenger car crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with an ambulance travelling in the opposite direction. The emergency vehicle was driven by a 58-year-old man. The car also carried the driver’s two grandchildren: a 15-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy. The woman died at the scene. The children sustained injuries of varying severity and were taken to hospital.

According to preliminary police information, the ambulance driver and the paramedic travelling in the emergency vehicle were not injured.

Investigators specialising in transport-related crimes and patrol police officers are currently working at the scene. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the accident and deciding whether to enter the information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations. Police urge drivers to obey traffic rules, stay alert behind the wheel, and avoid putting their own lives and health, or those of other road users, at risk. Law enforcement officers will establish the final circumstances and cause of the accident as part of their investigation.
