A woman died after being struck by a Ford Transit in Mykolaiv Oblast
According to preliminary information, the victim was lying in the roadway
On October 25, at around 9:20 p.m. in , Mykolaiv Oblast, a Ford Transit driver struck a 44-year-old woman. She died at the scene from her injuries.
According to the Mykolaiv Oblast Police, the 53-year-old driver was traveling along Tsentralna Street, on the H-24 “Blahovishchenske–Mykolaiv” highway. Preliminary information indicates that the pedestrian was lying in the roadway when she was struck.
Investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The case concerns a violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operating regulations by a person driving a vehicle, resulting in the death of a victim. The article carries a penalty of up to 8 years in prison.
Police are establishing the circumstances of the crash. The Transport Crime Investigation Division of the Investigative Department is asking witnesses and anyone with information about the crash to call 068-327-44-14 or 102.
