Nearly 11 hours late: the Kyiv — Mykolaiv train was stuck in a wave of delays after Russian shelling

Passenger train No.121/122 Kyiv — Mykolaiv as of 30 September 2026 is already delayed by 10 hours 52 minutes. According to the service “What’s with my train?”, it was due to arrive at Mykolaiv-Pasazhyrskyi station at 06:08, but the predicted arrival time shifted to 17:00.

This is not an isolated failure of that particular Mykolaiv service. After Russian strikes, dozens of long-distance and suburban trains across Ukraine are running with significant delays. Traffic must be adjusted because of the consequences of shelling, air raid alerts and security restrictions.

On the delay board published as of 12:57 30 September, train No.121/122 Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi — Mykolaiv-Pasazhyrskyi was en route. The system assessed the reliability of its arrival forecast as high.

Nearby on the list — a whole series of other trains with multi-hour delays. In particular, No.31/32 Zaporizhzhia — Przemyśl was delayed by more than 12 hours, No.3/4 Dnipro — Uzhhorod — also by more than 12 hours, No.207/208 Kharkiv — Odesa — nearly 11 hours. This indicates a large-scale disruption of the timetable.

Earlier on the morning of 30 September there were reports of dozens of delayed services across Ukraine. Part of the traffic has to be adjusted by the railway due to air raid alerts and the threat of repeated Russian strikes on infrastructure.

The situation builds up like a chain reaction: if a train is delayed to its terminal station because of danger or infrastructure damage, its return service may also depart late. That is why the consequences of attacks can affect the schedule for many hours after the strike itself.

The day before, 29 September, Korabelov.info already reported that train No.121/122 Mykolaiv — Kyiv was delayed by approximately 3 hours after a massive Russian attack. At that time dozens of services across the country were also knocked off schedule.

Thus, the next day the situation for the Mykolaiv direction had significantly worsened: the return train Kyiv — Mykolaiv accumulated a delay of almost 11 hours.
