Nine medals in Turkey: Mykolaiv para-swimmers triumphed at the European Championships
Athletes from Mykolaiv competed among 400 participants from 38 countries
Mykolaiv para-swimmers won 9 medals at the European Championships, which took place in Turkey from September 7 to 12. The tournament brought together 400 athletes from 38 European countries.
The competitors took part in para-swimming for athletes with musculoskeletal impairments, visual impairments, as well as intellectual and physical developmental disabilities. Representatives from Mykolaiv achieved the following results.
Анна Гонтар won 6 medals, and also finished 4th in the 100 m breaststroke:
- 1st place — 50 m freestyle
- 2nd place — 100 m freestyle
- 2nd place — 100 m backstroke
- 2nd place — relay 4×50 m freestyle
- 3rd place — 200 m individual medley
- 3rd place — 50 m butterfly
- 4th place — 100 m breaststroke
The athlete was prepared for the championship by coach Олена Сальнікова.
Сергій Паламлрчук achieved the following results:
- 2nd place — 50 m freestyle
- 4th place — 100 m freestyle
- 4th place — 50 m backstroke
The athlete is coached by Геннадій Вдовиченко.
Ангеліна Мальцева won 2 bronze medals:
- 3rd place — 50 m backstroke
- 3rd place — 100 m backstroke
Her coaches are — Андрій Козленко and Любов Воробйова.
Дмитро Василенко competed in 2 distances freestyle:
- 6th place — 50 m freestyle
- 7th place — 100 m freestyle
