Mykolaiv's female para swimmers won four medals at the European Championships in Turkey
Anna Hontar won three medals for the Ukrainian national team
At the European Para-Swimming Championships in the Turkish city Kocaeli, Mykolaiv athletes won four medals for the Ukrainian national team. The competitions for people with musculoskeletal impairments, visual impairments, intellectual and physical developmental disabilities are being held from 7 to 12 September.
400 athletes from 38 European countries are taking part in the championships. Representing Mykolaiv on the national team are Anna Hontar, Sergii Palamarchuk, Angelina Maltseva and Dmytro Vasylenko.
Anna Hontar has already won three medals:
- a silver medal in the 4×50 meters freestyle relay;
- a bronze medal in the 200 meters individual medley;
- a bronze medal in the 50 meters butterfly.
The athlete is coached by Olena Salnikova.
Angelina Maltseva won a bronze medal in the 100 meters backstroke. Her coaches are Andrii Kozlenko and Liubov Vorobiova.
The competitions in Kocaeli are ongoing, so the Ukrainian team may still add to its medal tally.
