As a result of an enemy strike by a guided aerial bomb in the war, anesthesiologist of the Mykolaiv Emergency Medical Care Hospital Roman Bryatko was killed. This was reported on 2 August 2026 by the hospital’s chief physician Oleksandr Dem’yanov.

“He loved life… not only his own. In his short life he saved more than a hundred lives,” — wrote the chief physician.

Colleagues remember Roman Bryatko as a kind, polite and selfless person, a loving husband, a responsible son and a doctor by vocation. He was an anesthesiologist, a serviceman and a defender of Ukraine.

“The enemy KAB took the life of our friend and colleague. It cut short the life of someone who stood defending the lives of others,” — noted Oleksandr Dem’yanov.

The farewell for Roman Bryatko was scheduled for 3 August 2026 at 10:00 on the grounds of the hospital to which he dedicated his efforts and years of work. A short ceremony was to take place before the procession to the church. The hospital staff extended their condolences to the parents, wife and the entire family of the fallen defender.

Bright memory to the doctor and warrior Roman Bryatko.
