Homes, boats and cars destroyed: a massive attack claimed the life of a Mykolaiv resident

During 28 July and the morning of 29 July 2026, Russian occupation forces continued to attack the Mykolaiv region with various means of destruction. As a result of combined strikes, a resident of Mykolaiv was killed and nine more people were injured. The consequences of the enemy attacks as of 08:00 were reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.

At noon on 28 July, Russian forces carried out a combined attack using strike UAVs of the “Shahed” type, guided aviation bombs and “Banderol” drones. At night and in the morning of 29 July, the region again came under strikes by “Shahed” drones. During the air attacks, air defense forces and systems destroyed a significant portion of the enemy’s aerial targets. At the same time, isolated hits were recorded in the region, as well as the fall of debris from downed unmanned aerial vehicles.

The heaviest consequences were in Mykolaiv. As a result of Russian strikes a 74-year-old man was killed. Wounds were sustained by three men aged 38, 45 and 76, and five women aged 20, 42, 44, 62 and 71. A 62-year-old woman and a 76-year-old man were hospitalized. As of the morning, medics assessed their condition as stable, of moderate severity. The rest of the injured, after receiving the necessary assistance, continued treatment on an outpatient basis.

In the city an industrial enterprise, an administrative building and port infrastructure facilities were damaged. The Russian attack also damaged three civilian boats, 17 private residential houses, 11 apartment buildings, 10 garages and 9 cars. The Mykolaiv district also came under enemy strikes. During the day on 28 July and at night on 29 July, Russian forces attacked the Ochakiv and Halytsynivska communities with “Shahed” drones.

As a result of falling debris in the village of Halytsynove, an 86-year-old man was injured. He was hospitalized. As of the morning, the victim was in serious condition. A private residential house in the settlement was also damaged. In the Ochakiv community, a recreational infrastructure facility was damaged as a result of the attack. According to preliminary information, no people were injured there.
